This is the second book in Clayton Geoffreys' s collection of unauthorized sports biographies that I have read and like the other one (Anthony Davis) it is a compact but complete description of Kyrie Irving's basketball career to date and the path to get there.In this particular book about Irving, Geoffreys covers every aspect of Kyrie's game at all levels - youth and high school ball, his one abbreviated season at Duke and his success with the Cleveland Cavaliers. To round out the book, some interesting facts on Irving's family life and activities off the court are included.What I especially like about the book is the ease in reading it. While reading it, it felt like Geoffreys and I were sitting on the porch talking about an amazing player. That is how this account of Kyrie Irving's career reads and will be enjoyed by any basketball fan.I wish to thank Mr. Geoffreys for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Why Someone Should Read the Book The book “Kyrie Irving: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Most Versatile Point Guards†is a book that every basketball fan I believe should read. The book was very easy to read and did not take a long time to finish. It also gave great inside details to Kyrie’s life such as his childhood and basketball career. The book is very intriguing to anyone who knows the game of basketball and is a nice, easy read.Summary of the Book (SPOILERS IN THIS SECTION) In the book, there are four main sections to read. There is Kyrie’s childhood, high school, college, and NBA sections just about him. In the first section, the big thing that jumped out at me was how his father played professional basketball in Australia and how he did not grow up with a mother. In his High school section, it highlights how good he was as a basketball player. Kyrie was rated the best point guard and the third best player overall in the country coming out of high school. That section also tells us how hard Kyrie really works. The book states, “ Every summer, Irving’s practice time was between five and ten hours a day, six days a week.†This shows just how hard Kyrie worked at his game. The book also tells us that he went to St. Patrick High School in New Jersey. In the third section, the book is brief about Kyrie’s college career. It is just a page and a half long because Kyrie went to Duke and due to a toe injury just twelve games into the season, he was forced to sit out the rest of the season. In the fourth section about his NBA career, the book tells us about his rookie year, how he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers early in his career and was then traded to the Boston Celtics.My Personal Take on the Book If I were to give a rating out of ten on the book, I would most likely give it around the eight or nine range. It was an easy read that kept me intrigued the whole time. There was great detail into his whole life it was not vague. I would recommend all basketball fans to read this book.

This book was ok! I read it with my 10 y/o and he enjoyed it but I thought it was a bit much. It was a little boring 😬. But hey, it served its purpose.....it got my son eager to read more.

This book is a biography of Kyrie Irving. The author presented his life in a very detailed manner from his childhood, the way his father coached him when he was young, all the way to his NBA career, which also included bits and pieces about his team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. This is a good read, not only for NBA fans, but also for those looking for inspiration. It’s amazing how a successful person remains grounded and continues to work even harder although he’s achieved a lot already. The author also included Irving’s life outside NBA such as his hobbies and charity works. There is no doubt there is more to Kyrie Irving, and people can expect to see this as his journey to success continues.
