This is an old book... Has some great ideas in it but.... Would benefit from an update for sure. Also, if the plans could be made available electronically, those of us with 3d equipment could utilize without having to reverse engineer
Covers a broad range of skills and techniques, from beginner to moderate experience level. Projects are interesting, and it's worth reading if you're new to building wooden mechanisms. Gives a good overview, and a good vision of what's possible if your craftsmanship is up to the task.
My husband, who is just starting out in woodcraft, absolutely loves this book. There are projects simple enough for his current skill level and many that tempt him to advance. Clear instructions and templates. Great resource.
I do automata and also wooden gear construction. Very good book to have in the workshop.
